About Spondylolisthesis Stories ...

Welcome! Spondylolisthesis Stories is a compilation of personal stories involving individual's diagnoses, experiences, surgeries, and life with Spondylolisthesis.

My hope is that this site may offer a voice and platform for those with the spine condition to share their personal stories with the medical community, fellow Spondyo patients, and the world as a whole. Spondylolisthesis Stories also provides a wide array of information, personal knowledge, support and ideas for those with Spondylolisthesis. Whether you were recently diagnosed, learning to live with the condition, making difficult decisions regarding surgical interventions, in the early phase of recovery following an operation, or further into your journey, this site covers it all!

In addition to general stories about this spine condition, personal stories which focus on the subject of Spondylolisthesis & Pregnancy may also be found. These shared experiences detail the matter of labor and delivery, and include women with both unfused slips and those whom have had surgery prior to pregnancy. It has been my experience that this topic is one which is shrouded in some mystery. By sharing these stories I hope we may be able to shed some light on the subject; offering guidance and ideas to those females with Spondyo who would like to become pregnant but fear the unknowns which this condition can create.

I am always seeking new stories and would love to hear yours! Let your story and voice be heard! Please contact me (Brenna), at spondyostories@gmail.com, in order to share your story here. If you are seeking additional help and support from others with Spondyo, please ask to join the "Spondylolisthesis and Retrolisthesis Support Group" on Facebook. *This group is closed, and therefore, offers a higher level of privacy and comfort for all members to share openly and without fear of judgement. It is open to anyone with Spondylolisthesis (or a family members of those with Spondylolisthesis) to join.

Below the Spondylolisthesis stories you will find several survey questions. If you have Spondylolisthesis, please take a moment to review these questions and select your answer(s). You are also encouraged to join in and participate by interacting in the "Community Answers" board, located at the bottom of the page. Feel free to post questions and comments, share stories, answer the questions already presented, and ask your own questions! I greatly appreciate your participation and look forward to reading your answers and comments!

Spondylolisthesis Support Groups

The Spondylolisthesis Support Group on Facebook is a community for those with the spine condition Spondylolisthesis (as well as those with Posterior Spondylolisthesis a.k.a. Retrolisthesis). This group is meant to be a safe place where those with the condition can share experiences, stories, pains, frustrations, triumphs, and accumulated knowledge about the one common thread that binds everyone together: Spondylolisthesis.

Unless an individual experiences this condition themselves, no one cannot truly understand, empathize, and relate to the pain and struggles often endured by many Spondyo patients. Because of this fact, it's vital to connect with others who do understand. This closed group offers that important support which is often lacking in our everyday lives (the "real world"). Whether you suffer with Spondylolisthesis yourself, or have a close family member who does, please consider this group as a valuable resource and place to find a multitude of answers to any one of your many questions involving life with this spine condition.

This is a "closed" support group, therefore, anything you may share is not viewed by anyone outside of the group, nor is it found in the public newsfeed on Facebook. I hope that this fact may allow everyone to feel more comfortable in sharing whatever they desire. I would also encourage everyone to share any links, documents, stories, as well as posting their own x-rays; anything which you deem important, relevant, and helpful to the group.

So, if you're seeking to connect with others who have Spondylolisthesis - not to mention, those who truly understand the condition itself and all of its many affects on everyday life and functioning - please consider joining! Whether you were just diagnosed or are many years post-op, this group and it's many wonderful members offer a lot of support, help, guidance, compassion, and knowledge for anyone interested & in need.

To join, simply click on the link below and follow the prompts to request to be added to the group. If you do not have a Facebook account, but would like to join the group, it is easy to create a Facebook account where you provide a very limited amount of information; One which you can use simply to communicate in the support group. If you have any questions, or trouble joining Facebook in the manner described above, please contact me anytime for further assistance! My email is spondyostories@gmail.com

With all of that said, I hope to see you there! ... Here's the link to the Spondylolisthesis Support Group: My.Spondyo.Group. Also, the link to the new support group for Spondylolisthesis & Pregnancy: Spondyo.Pregnancy.Group. *This new group was created after recognizing the increasing interest and need from females with Spondylolisthesis in regard to pregnancy, and subsequent labor & delivery concerns.
